It hasn’t even been one day since my previous post about not learning anything and now the EPA announces an enforcement discretion policy? All to benefit the oil and gas industries and their James Bond villain-level of evilness? Everything this government touches turns to ash.
Yeah, that seems about right for Zoom. Can’t we just have one nice thing in this world that isn’t completely mucked up by Facebook?
I’m very worried that the world is so focused on getting back to some sort of “normal” that we’re not going to really learn to appreciate teachers more, fix broken healthcare systems, or do anything meaningful about reversing climate change.
Another one of the truly great episodes by Reply All. I don’t think I like the song they’re trying to figure out as much as everyone else did when the episode came out. The story is damn good, though.
I just finished watching The Banker. It was a fine movie and well-made. About what you’d expect from that sort of story. Still, I keep finding myself impressed with what’s offered on Apple TV+. They’ve got a good thing going. 🎥🍿
I just did my first iCloud Folder Sharing to great success. I’m so glad this feature is finally available and appears to be working well. I think this will let me drop Google for nearly everything but YouTube. Happy day!
I watched Snakes on a Plane with a friend so we could talk about it on our podcast. That movie was better than I thought it would be, but wow, it was also not great at all. How the heck does a trash movie like that get a budget of 33 million dollars? 🎥🍿
Now that most of the world is shut down, I find myself putting on clothes that couldn’t be labeled as “lounging” or “comfy” far less. This feels like something I should work on changing.
I watched The Proposition again last night to prepare for a podcast. What a truly brutal, stark, and sometimes beautiful movie that one is. You’ve probably never seen the Australian Outback depicted like this. 🎥🍿
I watched How to Steal a Million with my special lady friend last weekend. What a really fun caper movie that one was! Audrey Hepburn and Peter O’Toole were absolutely brilliant together. 🎥🍿
I learned how to play gin rummy with my special lady friend this last weekend. I really like this card game. She does too, especially after she kicked my butt at it.
There’s really nothing better for the soul than going out for a walk and petting a friendly cat.
I’ve loved podcasts since I first started listening to them over a decade ago. I never would have thought that one day I’d consider listening to my favorites like coming home to old friends. I do now and I’m glad my friends are here.
I just ventured out into the world—all squinty-eyed and wobbly—for a quick trip to the market. Let me say, if you’re the type of person to just cough or sneeze into the open air, COVID-19 or not, you’re gross. A straight up gross-face.
“Nope, no going outside yet. Sigh…”
I appreciate both the message from my local police and fire chiefs and their willingness to film in the artisanal lumber section of our local Lowe’s.
After watching Outbreak for the first time in years, I see several contrasts to real life. Namely, their virus was way worse, their media is actually reporting the facts (what little they had), and you should never, ever trust Donald Sutherland. 🎥🍿
It’s a weird time when I need to ration my freaking ramen at home because somehow one of the most plentiful foods in any store is now gone. Good thing no one wants to eat my vegan food and are leaving that at the stores.
Always great to hear your over 60 years old parents downplay the pandemic and laugh about being told to stay home for their own health and safety. It’s going to be sad to have to barricade them in their home for their own good.
